Eliza walked toward her class, her books clutched tightly in her arms. It was her first day in class, and she felt so left out compared to everone else. She was shorter than everyone else and everyone kept looking down at her like she was a freak. The hufflepuffs cowered under the fear of her death glare, the Ravenclaws clicked their tounges, and the Gryffindors just acted like they were better than everyone else. The Slytherins stuck by her side though. She didn't have a class with them this time though. She had gotten here too late and a lot of the classes were full. So here she was stuck with all the Ravenclaw and Gryffindor prats in Muggle studies. She frowned and kept walking toward the classroom. She opened the door and there was no one in there. She frowned and bit her lip. Where was everyone? She wondered if she was in the right classroom. She looked at the plate on the door and it said she was. She straightened out her green and black slytherin robes and tightened her striped silver tie and walked toward the front of the room.

Remus entered the quiet room early for his Muggle studies class. Normally, no one would be in at this time. To his surprise, there was petite young lady in the front of the classroom, apparently a new student. His prefect badge shined in the light as he approached her. "My lady, I fear you have come to this class thirty minutes too early. Might I ask if I can see your schedule."

Eliza sat and tapped her pale fingers on the desk with her chin in her hands. She looked up when a voice began talking. It was a boy wearing Gryffindor robes. Normally she wouldn't associate with them but she handed him her timetable none the less.

Sure enough, muggle studies glistened on the list. "Well, you don't have your class confused. Lovely, that is were most problems lie. Am I to assume you just wanted to make a good impression with the professor?" Remus's eyes examined her robes; A Slytherin. If only James or Sirius was here...They would have torn the mickey out of poor Remus.

Eliza frowned. "No, i'm new and I didn't want to be late. I don't exactly know my way around here." She snapped. A little embarrassed that this had happened. Especially with a Gryffindor. A Ravenclaw wouldn't have bothered her so much, but a Gryffidor... She wanted to hang her head in shame at how embarrassed she was. She quickly hid it though and looked out the window to her left.

Remus felt he might have embarrassed the poor girl. He placed a hand on her shoulder, saying, "I'm sorry if I am disturbing you. You don't have to talk to me if you don't wish to." Remus removed his hand before walking to his respective seat. Remus sat down quietly, waiting and wondering if the Slytherin girl would muster the confidence to speak to him.

Eliza bit her lip watching him walk away. She scrunched her nose, and pushed her chair back and walking over to him. "You didn't have to leave. I don't mind talking to you. Your not as... rude and pratish as the other Gryffindors. Maybe that's why your a prefect." She stated lightly leaning on the table in front of him.

Remus smiled up at her. "Thank you for your kind words, my dear. You aren't so bad yourself. My name is Remus Lupin, I don't think I said that yet, have I?" He smiled, pulling out the class syllabus. "We have already gone over a few things, but nothing that would be on the NEWTs. You are quite lucky."

Eliza nodded. "No problem. My names Eliza Blakenship. I see you hanging out wih Sirius, and that girl Lily. Your a part of the Marauders. Am I correct?" She asked him, biting her lip. She was worried that he may have foudn out about her little run in with them the other day.

Remus nodded, "I am a part of the Marauders, but I prefer not to bully Slytherins, or anyone else for that matter, so you have nothing to fear from me." Internally, he winced at his own words, imagining what would hapen if she might come to the Shrieking Shack some full moon. The worse fate would be for both of them.

Eliza smiled at his words. He didn't say anything about her little run in with his friends, so she took that as a good sign. "Oh well that's nice. I'm glad I don't have to worry about you bullying me then." She told him softly, looking down at her feet. She gave a sigh and looked back up. No one had been this nice to her since she had been here, except maybe Bella and Cissa.

Remus beamed to the girl. "Would you like to sit beside me during class today? I have no partner, and I could easily help you catch up, Eliza." His voice weavedmelody's in the empty room, hitting against the walls and back down to the both.

Eliza smiled and nodded. "That would be great." She told him. She didn't have to be worried about being ridiculed or anything either because it was only Ravenclaw's and a couple of other Gryffindors. "I don't know why your being so nice to me. I am a Slytherin, Gryffindors sworn enemy."

Remus chuckled, scanning over Eliza. "Nope, I don't see why I shouldn't be kind to you. I don't believe I have a personal vendetta. I've just met you, so I should offer you nothing but courtesy." Remus grinned to her, trying to make her see that he wasn't one to be mean to someone for a hat's decision.

Eliza smiled and pushed her long black bangs from her face. "Well that's good. I don't have anything personal against Gryffindors. They just act so... I don't have a word for it..." She said with a sigh. Maybe she would have at least one friend here. This made her smile even more, flashing her straight white teeth. a trait she inheirated from her mother, and the black hair from her father.
